Being forced to use a toilet in a public park can be a harrowing proposition, but if you're on the other side of the pond in Padiham, England, you may just luck out. According to the Lancashire Telegraph, more than 1,334 entries were tallied to name the facilities in Burnley parks the Loo of the Year.
While there may be a few of these awards stateside, they probably don't have the same set of stringent criteria. Voters were able to rate bathrooms all around the country in terms of their signage, interior decor, light fixtures, sustainable improvements, cleanliness and the overall management of the space.
"We know park-users want clean well maintained toilets in Burnley's parks...the five stars awarded to the toilets in Towneley and Memorial Park show we achieve the high standards that the public expect," Jeff Sumner, executive member for leisure, told the news source.
With a wealth of cutting-edge bathroom accessories, these new facilities are the cream of the crop in Lancashire. Everyone knows how nice it can be to not have to worry about a public bathroom's cleanliness, so which public restrooms in your area are deserving of praise?
