Small changes help make a big difference in your bathroom décor

Individuals looking to improve the overall look and style of their bathroom without purchasing a new bathroom vanity, bathtub or toilet can use a few hints from experts to achieve a designer look.

A new coat of paint, shower curtain and bathroom accessories are sure to transform the space.

"Calm, neutral colors help create a relaxing and soothing environment for rest and relaxation," says Brenda Wulff, director of product design and innovation for Choice Hotels International.

Even splurging on new, luxurious towels can help make your bathroom feel like a top-notch hotel or spa.

Installing new light fixtures or recessed lighting can do wonders as well. And, and elegant feel can be achieved by hanging a chandelier.

Instead of spending a lot of money on a new mirror, consider adding a decorative frame to an existing one to create a more finished look.

"Instead of replacing the entire mirror, a frame can be added to the bathroom vanity mirror in a matter of minutes to finish the look of the bathroom and save money," says Wulff.

Adding art work and other splashes of color can also help make a big difference.
