While there are many ways homeowners can instantly change the look of their bathroom, none is as effective as installing a new bathroom vanity.
Vanities are available in countless sizes, colors and styles. Whether you want a traditional, antique, contemporary or modern bathroom, there are literally thousands of vanity choices available online and in stores.
Installing a new bathroom vanity can easily be done by many homeowners - without having to hire a contractor. According to DIYNetwork.com, there are several easy steps that should be followed for those replacing an old vanity and installing a new one on their own.
Obviously, removing the old vanity is the first step. This involves shutting off the water supply at the main valve and turning off waterlines to the sink. Before the new vanity is put into place, the DIY Network suggests prepping the vanity top by installing the fixtures. Then, the new unit can be positioned and leveled where you want it. It should be attached to wall studs with 2 ½ or 3-inch wood screws. Finally, install the prepped vanity top with caulk and attach the waterlines.
