It's safe to say that different colors have a variety of effects on an individual's state of mind. And when it comes to your home, the color of your walls is of the utmost importance.

Of course, when dealing with your bathroom, it's vital to choose a hue that's eye-catching but can still harmonize your bathroom accessories and fixtures. Bath tubs, sinks and tiles in neutral colors like white are a lot easier to work with and will allow you to work with a variety of colors for the walls.

Catherine B. Stein, founder and president of The Color Council, maintains that deeper colors look fantastic in smaller bathrooms.

"Don't try to hide the fact that it's a small space," she says. "Instead, treat the room like a little jewel box, painting the walls and the ceiling the same color, and make it really special."

Of course, it's also important to remember that a little goes a long way. Shower panels and toilets with memorable accentuations are bound to have a positive effect on anyone who enters your home.
